Recently, perhaps since the last update, the village improvement area has been acting up. I used to improve the village to get diamonds to get little helps in the game. They stopped appearing after an improvement and the update boxes no longer light up when I can afford the cost. Love to play this game idly. I use the cats rather than the blocks. I do enjoy the game, but the ads are crazy. I do think the cost to pay to remove the random ads is inexpensive enough to keep my relaxation.
So the gameplay would be great, but the RNG seems to be intentionally set up so that at times, there is no possible move that can prevent a loss without paid for items. The RNG can screw you over and fill the board with blocks that cannot possibly be cleared no matter what course of action you take without premium items. This is itself disgusting. I'm not just talking about bad decisions leading to a game state that cannot be won without items, I'm talking about blocks that could never be cleared in the first place. For example, if there is a 4 long block and a 3 long block, on top of another 3 long block and another 4 long block. There is no way you could possibly move these blocks to clear either row. The game will continuously spawn 4 and 3 long blocks until the whole board is filled with them. Even if you could make a million moves without the game ending, there is no way to clear a single row in such a scenario. The game does this ROUTINELY. You NEED premium items to get past certain levels because of this. I rarely get the feeling that I made mistakes that led to my loss. 9/10 times the game ends and I feel as though there was nothing I could have done to prevent it. This is malicious game design, intended to force the player into buying in-game items if they want to win.
Fun but flawed. Its annoying to fill multiple rows at once and have an electric block go off and destroy certain blocks, but not all the rows and then lose because even though you matched 4 rows, only a few blocks were actually removed and then the game decides to move up all the blocks three times in a row. This happens frequently every time you get further into the game, its as if the programmers want us to lose.
