It is always true that ads ruin the gaming experience. However, I would have to say that worse than that is the insane difficulty level of the middle four boxes in the Wintertime Event puzzle. People like a challenge until it becomes a ridiculous waste of time ... which then becomes stressful and no longer fun.
This is a well designed game and great fun. I paid a small amount to remove ads. I have two small complaints. One: there is a bug when you play the daily challenge and return to the app later, if you try to play the regular game it tells you the target (only x% can blah blah) and then hangs, have to kill it. Two: the game is kind of boring when you're doing well. It's only when you start to lose that it gets exciting - that's why the daily challenges are more fun. Not sure how to fix that.
I've used this app for almost a year. At first the ads were tolerable, probably one ad every two or three restarts. Then the ads started to become every restart. Then the ads were on app start-up and before each puzzle. Now the ads interrupt the puzzle. This is the point where I am removing the app from my device. Response to Developer: I am not against ads. Over the last year the ads have increased significantly in occurrence and duration. I understand the requirements for funding.
