Hockey All Stars 24 Review
Great game, until it isn't. The difficulty cliff is MASSIVE and unexpected. It goes from scoring 4 to 5 points a game, shutouts, no shots against, easy, to losing 5 to 1 and fighting your way through every game, very quickly. Enjoyability hit a brick wall. I upgraded my facilities and players, no good. Practice would be nice too. First time you have to do a shootout, you're going to lose. Also, fix the stupidity of the AI sometimes. Lose puck in the O zone, 3 skaters racing, they just STOP!
Opponents have super human abilities, control buttons don't work, the very instant you cross the blue line you are stripped, body checks don't work, passing works 1 out of every 5 tries, when you transition into the opponent's zone you are by yourself with no wingers, pass button makes a deke move, no one stays in the zone to grind so you are again by yourself, amongst many other playability issues. Awful awful awful. Needs drastic improvement.
Pros: -Extremely good graphics - Very clean movement - simple yet not too complicated -very Good GUI Cons -I wish passing would always go toward your player because if you don't aim to a specific area in the game, the puck goes into a random direction Fighting is extremely rigged once you get into the major leagues. The bot starts mauling you before you can even press the buttons -bots always tend to ram into my goalie to try to score and the puck always phases thru the goalie
