Heroes vs. Hordes: Survivor Review
At first glance, seems like any of the other Vampire Survivors-like games, but it is deceptively deep, with multiple heroes, equipment slots, talents, buffs, and every one of them levels up. Fun replay value so far, but I'm only a few hours in. Waiting for a "soft paywall" where I have to buy something in order to keep going, but I haven't hit anything like that yet. Only downside is that you're limited by "energy" to keep playing, though it refills on its own over time. Good times so far!
Time and money have been spent over the last two years and I can only seem to acquire one additional specialty hero. The ability to acquire certain things within the game without spending hundreds of dollars is definitely the downfall. They call it the lucky spin but so far I've not really been lucky at all.... Sure could use some luck this way!
Originally this game use to be f2p friendly, which made me justify spending on things like removing ads. Now to get a chance at getting a hero you must spend around 379 USD. The greed is ruining the dynamics of the game. I really enjoyed the game when characters were unlocked via diamonds that you can earn by playing. I understand immediately paywalling a new character, but it's really bad when that is the only way to get them.
