Lapse: A Forgotten Future Review

Great game, it starts out as just a decision making simulator but the more you play the more you realize there is an underlying story with a great plot. Plenty of endings and achievements to unlock. Two gripes though: it's sorta finicky with its Google Play Games syncing, and it's hard to actually get into until you start to learn the game mechanics.

A friend recommended this game to me and I have been playing for a little bit (still haven't gotten to an ending), and it's great. It's a good mix between being simple and extraordinary. I also like Sci-Fi and this game dives heavily into that genre. It's also very easy to follow and enjoyable to go through. I look forward to completing the story. Also the gameplay is smooth and the ads are optional most of the time, but I promise they won't bother you much at all.

Interesting concept, frustrating execution. Make too many bad choices? You die (and get an ad). Make too many good choices? You die (and get an ad). Stroke of bad luck? You die (and get an ad). There is no correct way to play, you just fail over and over. The game could offer a compelling story to make that less obnoxious, but instead you are occasionally fed tiny crumbs of uninteresting information that take far too much 'play'time to amount to anything (and then you die (and get an ad)).
