It’s disheartening to see how they treat their customers, as despite paying everything in advance, I was left to deal with the aftermath of their failed contract management on my own.
Despite my grievances, I must admit that the Expedia app itself has some redeeming features, hence the 4-star rating. The app simplifies the travel planning process by acting like a digital travel agent, allowing users to search for accommodations and various travel options without overwhelming them with unnecessary advertisements or promotions. I genuinely believe there is potential for Expedia to innovate and expand beyond traditional lodging bookings, perhaps enhancing the value they provide travelers akin to a AAA or conventional travel agency. However, my recent stay at Motel 6 in Savannah, Georgia was disappointingly subpar. I was initially informed that the room I reserved was unavailable, only to be placed in a poorly maintained room devoid of basic amenities, including adequate lighting and cleanliness. After expressing my concerns to the front desk and requesting a refund, I was told to pursue it through the Expedia platform. This roundabout experience revealed a disturbing change in the quality of service and accommodations that I once knew. It's disheartening to realize how much Motel 6 has deteriorated over the years. Overall, my latest encounters have led me to reconsider any future bookings with Expedia, as the fusion of technology and travel planning hasn’t translated into a seamless or satisfactory user experience.
