Shadow Fight 4: Arena Review
Great graphics, great gameplay. My criticism? Too much grinding. Leveling up your hero is a hassle instead of being unnoticable flow of progression. There is a big microtransaction wall that keeps the game from being great. Everything is locked behind ads and microtransactions that any progression almost comes to a complete halt once you reach about level 9 for every hero. Coins are hard to get too, with them only being attainable by watching ads and opening chests. Overall, disappointing.
It's a good game, really, no forced ads, ok store prices. Good graphics, decent controls, and not bad matchmaking. That said, the big issue of this game is power scaling. Health/damage is a huge jump between levels. Someone who is great at, and has a lvl 4 Shang, Is going to struggle against someone who is only decent at and has a lvl 5 Shang. This is more like an rpg where you have to lvl up, which is annoying, bc you lose ranking. This issue causes a ton of frustration. 4/5 if this is fixed.
I really like Nekki. Been playing their games for years, and I'm excited for their first console PC release soon as well, but I hope that the monetization aspect doesn't plague their new games as it ruins any type of fun I get from it knowing I'm locked out of any progression until I pay to get slightly stronger. Also, this is probably the second or third time I bought a battle pass and I still received ads when it's supposed to take them out of the equation. Uninstalled again, sadly.
