The game itself is fantastic. But 30 second commercial you have to watch every 1 minute of game play, not only breaks your concentration, it annoys others around you. That's because, no matter how low your sound volume is while playing the game, it will get really loud, once the advertise starts to play. Advertisements are set to play in high volume sound. You can only mute the sound of it after it already starts the ads. And when next ads pops up, you have to mute the sound again every time.
I must say that the art is great as usual, but there are some obvious flaws. The volume seems pretty quiet, the frame rate becomes atrocious very fast ruining the experience and controls, and although this might just be me but it seems that to get a comfortable grasp on how to play the game it takes a while for a newcomer. Overall if the frame rate becomes fixed this game would be better, but there is the issue of difficulty and intuitive gameplay. But that might just be me ¯_(ツ)_/¯
This game has the unique gameplay and visuals of an Arnold Rauers game, but is very annoying, not just because of the more luck based gameplay than his other work, but because you can't choose not to use an item on a tile. The game runs on stamina and you don't have much of it. So whenever the quickest route to the exit involves wasting one bit of stamina to unnecessarily shoot an enemy with a bow that wasn't a problem, as an example, it can be a pretty annoying if enough runs die this way.
Not one of Arnold Rauer's best, tbh. Energy save mode changed nothing (do I really need all those animations and particle effects?), no way to turn off the excessive amount of vibration, and gameplay is slow, ads pop up in the middle of a run (not before or at the end). I've paid money for every previous game from the developer because they're well-crafted, but this one literally had me screaming at the screen constantly in frustration for clunky and slow interface. Play Card Crawl instead.
The art style is great, but overall the game play wasn't captivating. The puzzle aspect is clunky and random in a way that often makes the rooms take a long time to beat, which wouldn't be a bad thing, but the character runs out of stamina too quickly. The stamina can only be recovered every few rooms and not enough to reliably continue playing.
