Mahjong Journey: Tile Match Tier List
The last update said the game play was easier, which it isn't... can't get three stars unless playing a level like 100 times. Also, they changed the rules on special boards. So now even if you get three stars on each level of the special game board, you don't get a statue. Now the game forces you to get/collect items that the software may or may not award. On the special board that just ended, I was two items short of the entire collection, w/3 stars on each level, and no reward. Sucks!!
Mahjong Journey used to be my favorite game... and then in one day it was ruined for me. About a year or so ago the developers changed the settings for how challenging it is to obtain stars to advance to the next set of levels. Where before I had advanced to level 460, after the change it has now become virtually impossible to pass several levels with more than one star, leaving me stuck. Forever. It is tragic when developers ruin an amazing game. Allow people to choose difficulty level. Shame!
I only just started to play this game, and it is interesting so far, but I am used to the tiles that I can not get to yet being "dull". Meaning that only the accessible tiles are "highlighted". So this kind of bothers me/turns me off from the game. Also, the constant "dialogs" that pop up are annoying. Other than those two things, I do like that there is a goal/purpose for completing levels, and that you are able to redecorate and unlock new rooms.
Love the game. Only problem is when playing on a small phone screen, I'm unable to manually zoom in. Everything else is good. Additional: At the beginning of the game, with all the tiles on board, they are very small on my screen. As you play and get rid of tiles, they expand to a bigger size. I appreciate that! I wish I could expand the screen in the beginning and slide it around to find my pieces. It's my own fault for playing this on my small smart phone instead of a tablet, though.
I've been playing this game for a long time. It used to be 5 stars until this latest update where there is no longer a timer. PLEASE, BRING BACK THE TIMER! It's near impossible to get more than one star and to know how close to 2 or 3 stars you are. It seems this game gives you zero room for error now. If I take more than 3 seconds to find the next matching tiles, that's it game over. I feel like it's a tactic to make you spend money on the game to unlock the levels. If something doesn't change, I'll have to uninstall. I don't want to since I'm almost at level 1100 but it's just unrealistic and frustrating to me now more than it is enjoyable and relaxing. Such a shame.
