Frontier Chronicles Tier List
Pretty great for Battle Nations fans, not quite Battle Nations but a really close experience! The combat is done perfectly (bugs aside) and the base mechanics are super nostalgic. There are PLENTY of bugs and glitches that need addressing but in addition the game prevents you from progressing past HQ level 5 without actually telling you and it's killed the pacing for me. Other than that the game is a great trip down memory lane for BN players and a good experience for turn base combat enjoyers.
A good start for the game, but still needs a lot of QOL improvements. Battle nations fans like myself know what to do and how but a new player will get confused as there is no tutorial. The story is extremely barebones, but it keeps the old BN spirit very well. It would be great if the characters get proper faces also. Having the AI select your units in combat when its your turn based on what the AI would do is a bit disorienting, and the combat feels a bit clunky in general.
Pros: It's a battle nation's like Cons: It has a weird unit cap that you can't really increase without mission progress. It Makes the game feel very static and linear, I would love them to add maybe a population system, that way you can set up your army how you want You spend so much time with full resources since building upgrades is also tied to mission progress. Your just doing things in a predetermined order. It's not fun Giving it a 4/5 cause I want to see it improve. Really would be 2/5
