DEEMO II Review
This game went above and beyond expectations! I loved the first game, but this one doesn't even feel like a mobile game with its cutscenes, voice acting, exploration, map, collectables, saving, etc. Love that the core of Deemo playing is still present even with this mega upgrade to everything else in the game! 5 stars if cooldown period were 30min since I can play about 10 songs in that timeframe. 2 hours seem excessive to be able to play ONE song
You guys did a fantastic job at note input and Chapter 2 changed the aspect of the game and story. Fantastic story build up and slow release of each chapter. Love it! You get a 5star, monetization is balanced for no ad experience. Not even overpriced for a free DL game with new additions each week. My only complaint is "flick notes." I don't feel like they register as they should and the time to get in the position for the next note is a bit too much. I see 3-4 yellow slides the same as flicks.
I'm torn. The gameplay is just as good as the first one. I'm not too into the story so I can't speak on that too much but the presentation is well done. The reason I'm torn is they've changed their monetization model and not necessarily for the better. There is a really expensive battle pass ($20), a stamina system that once used doesn't stop you from playing slows down your progress. This is on top of the music packs they usually offer in their games. It really puts a sour taste on it all.
