DEEMO II Tier List
I was a massive fan of the 1st Deemo, and I want to love this one just as much. The story is compelling, the art is beautiful, it's an incredible experience. So why 3 star? Energy system... I bought every song pack in the 1st game because I loved the music & it helped me progress the story. Now, songs barely help you progress, so there's no point replaying the same 6 songs or buying new songs unless you have energy. They want your money, but don't want you to play 😭😭 I'm gutted.
It's alright compared to the first game. I love the new types of notes, so game play is better, except for the songs that slow down in the middle, I really dislike that mechanic. The story is interesting but there are a lot of npcs to keep track of. Not a fan of finding charts for only one difficulty of a song at a time, I'd rather just find fewer charts and have them unlock all three difficulties. There are a lot of resources to keep track of, which is confusing, and the collectibles are meh.
Shaping up to be just as good if not better than the original. The music is as good as ever and the story is more expansive and full of personality. You can grind for song packs over time now and songs from limited-time events become available for purchase months later. The stamina system is a nonissue as you can play as much as you want without it, the only difference being how fast you progress the story, which becomes irrelevant after you finish all the story content. Flick notes suck though.
