Combat Quest – Archer Hero RPG Review
The leveling system in each run that gives you skills is a choice between 3 random skills, most of which are terrible. So many runs you will lose due to bad rng. Half of the ranged mobs have "random" trajectory projectiles. Most of the bosses have unpredictable attack patterns and unavoidable attacks. The game is designed for you to lose, spending anything less than thousands of dollars won't even power you up enough to beat half the stages. Not worth your time.
Used to be a lot of fun. Now with the new update its become an archero pay-to-win clone that's constantly wanting money. Not unique, and has serious memory leak problems. Edit: the game has improved. I'm not having any memory leak problems any more, and the game feels a bit more balanced. It's a bit more fun, so I'm improving my rating to 3/5 stars.
I wanted to give this one 5 stars. The core game play is solid and the game is fun. But, you are mercilessly dependent on your level up rolls. Only about 1/3 of them are actually useful, and no amount of powering up your character can compensate for sh*tty rolls in game. Multishot, chainshot, double arrows, piercing, and ricochet are basically mandatory but they hardly ever drop. The rest all feel exceedingly useless. The game is best when arrows are flying all over the screen so why limit that?
