CivCrafter Codes review

I like the concept of the game but there a are a lot of ads (you can skip though). The ads can be handy sometimes when upgrading you may get an ad instead to help. You also need over 100 farmers to have 20 of anything else its a bit absurd. It also keeps you going with missions and materials to build such as the upgrades. The upgrades may need you to expand your max wood or stone and it just keeps you going. I like that I haven't fully played through it yet but this is is my review for now.

Great graphics, responsive UI. A little too much silence for my taste, but I enjoyed the sound we did get. It was nice not chatting with my targets and attackers. I can't believe I pressed the same button over 10,000 times - I built a story of a tower all by myself. It would have been nice to be able to dump more stone into the tower with less effort.

This game would have been a good idle game but it has a lot of problems. First, unlike most idle games, this game doesn't really do much when you aren't playing. The only two things it does when you aren't playing is keep track of when other players attack you and it allows batch creations to finish. Second, I don't know if the game is just poorly optimized or if it's doing something in the background but it causes my phone to start over heating after just a few minutes of playing. I know I have a cheap phone but I've played games that were more complex, both graphically and gameplay wise, that didn't have this problem. Third, the online portion of the game doesn't really add anything to the game. Everything from the pvp battles to the clans system just seems tacked on to justify requiring an internet connection. I have no problem with the ads, I actually think they are spaced out enough that they don't really hinder the gameplay too much, I just think that if you're going to require an internet connection, it should feel worth it. There are also some other, smaller, issues that I have like how the game doesn't tell you how much of the 6 smaller resources you make per second which is only really an issue for when you are trying to keep a balance of your resources for the creation of the wonder. The bonus from clans doesn't seem to directly effect your workers and instead only seems to effect the production rate, which causes no noticeable change to how much food you produce per second. I think that with some work this game will be good, but for now this game is just ok.
