The ordeal began when I realized that not all of my order had been delivered, and every time I reached out to customer service, their standard response was that the 'consignee refused to accept the order.' It was an infuriating battle to track my purchases, and despite communicating with the store manager and messaging them on WhatsApp, the solution was nowhere in sight. To add to the perplexity, the packages arrived on different dates, with one still missing, leaving me feeling unvalued as a customer.
The quality of the shirts I eventually received was equally disheartening. I found the fabric to be uncomfortable at best, and after just one wash, the shirt shrank significantly, rendering it almost unwearable. The stitching, which one would expect to be a hallmark of a garment tailored to one’s specifications, was subpar. Worse yet, the placement of my initials was careless and looked cheap, as if the tailors didn’t even bother to pay attention to this basic detail. For a brand that markets itself based on personalized service and quality craftsmanship, this lack of attention reveals a severe disconnect between their brand promise and the actual product delivered.
What compounded my disappointment was the customer service experience—or lack thereof. When I inquired about their return policy, I was met with vague responses that left me feeling trapped over the issue. Their refusal to accommodate my concerns under the guise that it had been over 30 days was unacceptable. It seems that once the sale is made, the company is disengaged from the quality of the product or the satisfaction of the customer. Given this series of unfortunate events, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Bombay Shirt Company to anyone seeking tailored clothing. Instead, I urge potential customers to consider other options—like the consistently high-quality attire from Made to Measure that has never let me down since 2015. My attempt to branch out and try something new was regrettable, and I hope to save others from similar disappointment.
