Best Western To Go Coupon Reviews
During a recent stay at a Best Western property in Bernalillo, New Mexico, my experience was riddled with accessibility issues that made our visit more challenging than it should have been. As a disabled veteran accompanied by my wife, who uses a wheelchair, the lack of proper wheelchair access proved to be a significant hurdle. The property was undergoing construction, which not only blocked entry points from the parking lot but also made navigating the building exceptionally difficult. When we finally reached our room located at the end of a long hallway, the size was disappointing and hardly accommodating. I struggled to move around the bed, while my wife’s wheelchair found no space to navigate. This was particularly disheartening given our specific needs; what was meant to be a restful stay quickly turned into a stressful situation.
On top of the accessibility concerns, noise issues plagued our stay. We were woken up at 5:30 AM on Saturday as the thin walls allowed every sound from the floors above to filter through. My attempts to have the front desk address the persistent noise problem were met with the unfortunate realization that it’s a continuous issue at the hotel. Even after extending our stay and switching rooms, the disturbances continued. The atmosphere was further tainted by the distinct smell of marijuana in what was supposedly a no-smoking establishment. After spending over 150 nights in hotels across the country, I can confidently say this was the most disappointing experience I've encountered, leading me to request a refund rather than a continuation of my stay.
Despite the frustrations, I must commend the staff and overall cleanliness of the hotel. The personnel truly went above and beyond to ensure that all guests, including my family, felt supported during our stay, and the cleanliness of our room was notable. The food served was delicious, which was a bright spot amidst the challenges we faced. However, the lack of a heated pool left something to be desired, especially for those who may not appreciate the chill of a polar plunge. While I’ve typically enjoyed my stays at various Best Westerns—particularly in California where I have found spacious rooms and welcoming staff—I left this experience feeling more let down than uplifted. As a Diamond Select member who loves the perks of extra points, my recent experience highlighted the need for further improvements to the app and customer service continuity. The visit to Bernalillo turned into a learning experience on how hospitality needs to prioritize accessibility and noise management in addition to maintaining their exemplary service standards.
