Ark of War: Aim for the cosmos Review

I tried this game for a bit. Grinded up to (If I remember correctly) Bridge level 11. This game requires you to purchase in game items if you want to progress. You will get nowhere without buying shields for your ship. You will get attacked every single day and every single hour by mostly Chinese players with obviously payed for loot. The grind for resources is so strained that it will take a few days just to get that relatively low level research for a new unit or building that barely increases the stats in building which you use to passively gain resources. And that's if you have the ship shield that I spoke about. Without that? Forget it. You'll get targeted by players 5-7 levels higher than you with thousands of units from across the damn world map. The art style seems nice but as a game, you have to bend yourself over backwards in order to play. A shame but it's typical for a mobile game of this genre to almost get it but lock its ease of accessibility behind a paywall.

5 dollars for your first purchase, gives you a great hero and a lot of resources. Every purchase after is $99.99. Maybe they make a lot? I don't know, but 100 dollars for stuff you blow through in under a minute seems steep. In addition, chinese players pay much much less for the same items. The top 50 players are mostly employees and the customer service sucks. There is a cool mini game but it has a problem where it can't handle more than a few extra ships, giving you diminishing returns.

First of all, nearly every image of their advertising, even the ones on this page, are stolen from other games and are nothing like the actual gameplay. As for the gameplay, it seems to be be almost entirely comprised of upgrading, and it took me half an hour just to complete the "tutorial," from which I learned absolutely nothing. The game is cluttered with nominally useless mechanics that really only serve to confuse the player. Some of the artwork was also mildly disturbing to me.
