Finally able to get a korean phone number and played all their games to get to the payment screen and now they won't let me pay unless I get another app. Tried to get the additional shady looking app and it won't let me use it unless I allow it access to my PHONE CALLS AND PHOTOS/MEDIA/PERSONAL FILES?! NO WAY. Game after game. So complicated and pointless. Just downloaded and used 요기요 instead. So much easier and reliable!!!
As a foreigner, this app has been easy to use. Despite the lack of language options (it's a Korean app in Korean), it is very convenient. I've only had two issues with deliveries, which were resolved quickly over chat once and a call another time. Refunded quickly or had a missing item delivered promptly. It's sad to see Americans giving low scores on this app because they can't figure out how to translate. It's bizarre that foreigners think an application deserves 1 star because no English..
I agree that there are some flaws with this app. At the same time, in a country where the main language is Korean, the company is going to market to their main demographic. It would certainly help from a business standpoint to make it foreigner friendly though. My only issue is I have the hardest time getting my payment info through on this app with all the steps compared to other food delivery apps. Other than that, it works just fine and I actually prefer this one over the other apps.
Very hostile to foreigners (new arrivals/short termers). A korean phone number is needed in order to use 배민's services, and it is all in Korean. I would definitely not recommend it to foreigners staying short term/new arrivals unless you have a sim card and are able to read Korean. Personally, I also had an issue where it would not allow me to authenticate my phone information despite inputting all the correct information. It is very frustrating.
I really love using 배민, but why is it not allowed for foreigners residents in Korea to send or receive gift coupons???? Today I spent 1 hour of my time trying to do it but it was not possible because "내국인만 가능합니다". Even months, and a year ago it was not possible either, but I thought 배민 had improved. So I ended up using a different korean delivery app that took me just 1 min to send a gift coupon -> easy & simple.
